Herbal Product Specialists (Permanent, Year-Round)
(approximately 40 hours/week)
Cherry Valley Organics is a collaboration of growers and food enthusiasts who are passionate about producing high quality, certified organic agricultural products. We are producing some of the finest organic herbs, flowers, and vegetables in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
Our Herbal Product Specialist position is a multi-faceted position, supporting our Herbal Product Manager in all aspects of tea and medicinal herb production, manufacturing, sales, and distribution.
Agricultural Job Duties:
Weekly agricultural activities are focused on the production of tea herbs and edible flowers, which includes seed-starting, transplanting, weeding, watering, pest management, harvesting, drying, garbling, and packaging dried product. Other general farm duties are required, as needed.
Working outdoors in all weather conditions is required. Lifting 50 pounds repeatedly without difficulty is also required for some projects.
Manufacturing Job Duties:
Weekly manufacturing activities include processing, packaging, and labeling all of our herbal value-added products, including herbal teas, herb-infused vinegars, dried herbs & edible flowers, lip balms, salves, soaps, and more!
Sales & Distribution Job Duties:
Weekly sales and distribution activities include packaging outgoing orders for wholesale, retail, and e-commerce customers. Selling our herbal products at face-to-face events, including farmers markets, festivals, trade shows and at our Burgettstown Farm Market & Cafe is also required (Covid protocols observed).
Candidates must love herbal tea! Candidates who have experience growing plants, enjoy working outside, and who are passionate about living a healthy, organic lifestyle are preferred for these positions.
Full-time, year-round, permanent non-exempt positions with medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO. Approximately 40 hours/week. Saturdays and Sundays will be required during busy season (but not every week). Targeting March/April 2021 start date.

Assistant Vegetable Growers (Seasonal)
(mid-May through early November 2021; 40 hours/week)
Cherry Valley Organics is a collaboration of growers and food enthusiasts who are passionate about producing high quality, certified organic agricultural products. We are producing some of the finest organic herbs, flowers, and vegetables in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
Assistant Growers support our Crop Manager and full-time, salaried Growers in all aspects of growing certified organic vegetables and culinary herbs.
Job Duties:
Daily activities include seed-starting, transplanting, weeding, watering, pest management, harvesting, washing, and packaging products for farm share, farmer’s markets, and wholesale customers. Driving farm trucks and making deliveries will be required (approximately 2 days per week). Other farm duties as required.
Working outdoors in all weather conditions is required. Lifting 50 pounds repeatedly without difficulty is also required for some projects. Candidates who have experience growing plants and who are passionate about healthy, organic food are preferred.
Full-time, hourly, seasonal non-exempt position. Some Saturdays and Sundays will be required.
