Value-Added Product Specialists (New in 2011!)

Cherry Valley Organics seeks local talent to assist in the production and packaging of our value-added product lines, which include herbal teas, dried culinary & medicinal herbs, and herbal bath & body products.  Work is completed in our PDA and PCO certified kitchens and processing facilities (these are not field positions).  Candidates must be able-bodied (capable of lifting 40 lbs), attentive to detail, and capable of doing repetitive work with accuracy.

3-4 positions available.  On-call, flexible hours/work schedules, 4-hour shifts (average).  Evenings and weekends possible.  A great opportunity for homemakers, stay-at-home moms, or new retirees to earn extra cash!

$8/hr plus production bonuses.  Start date in March/April 2011.

High Tunnel & Integrated Pest Management Internship

Cherry Valley Organics has been selected to participate in a nationwide high tunnel research study from 2011 to 2013.   This NRCS grant-funded project involves growing the same crops both inside a high tunnel (an unheated greenhouse) and outside in field conditions, while comparing crop yields and overall crop health, as well as monitoring for insect pests and disease.  

Cherry Valley Organics is seeking a local college student, majoring in biology, environmental science, or botany, to collect data for grant reporting.  Responsibilities will also include planting, maintaining, and harvesting crops grown in this study.  Candidates must have a serious interest in working with plants outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

12 hours per week required; 2-3 mornings per week.  The ideal candidate will be able to commit to the position for an entire growing season from March through early December.  Three month internships possible.  Stipend provided.
